Black Pear consultants have been involved in helping Dalkia - a major
support service provider - to improve the use of information technology at
its client sites
In a recent project, we reviewed print production
requirements, which indicated that
migration of nearly 1000 people from desktop-based devices to fully networked multi-functional devices
would offer substantial benefits
The benefits include higher quality output, reduced energy
costs, reduced noise, less heat and space usage, less paper consumed, more
reliable equipment, automatically diverted (and notified) job output if
there is a potential delay or malfunction at the nearest printer, and
potential cost savings of over £.75M
Black Pear has also proposed creation of a
highly-qualified technical support team,
to help staff undertake complex print and
collation tasks, and respond immediately if problems should occur with
equipment
The project includes updating of the client's
sophisticated helpdesk application, to manage the data complexity and
provide valuable performance analysis
